An increasing amount of exhausted parents are turning to private sleep consultants to help them train their babies and children to get to sleep easier, and help them get a little bit more shut-eye themselves in return!
There are loads of sleep consultants around the world who offer this service, and we’re going to take a look at 20 of the best.
Run by three highly qualified professionals, each with over 18 years’ experience of working with children and babies, the Infant Sleep Consultants are also all parents themselves, so can empathise with the challenges that getting your children to sleep can bring!

Lucy Shrimpton (also known as The Sleep Nanny) is one of the leading child sleep consultants in the UK, and in addition to offering her service on a face to face, one on one basis, she also has a range of online self-led programmes on her website, as well as a free e-book guide to download.
3. Andrea Grace
The UK’s longest-standing children’s sleep trainer is Andrea Grace, who has been helping mums and dads get their children to sleep since 1998.
Having worked as a qualified and registered nurse, her extensive experience makes Andrea a trustworthy and effective consultant.
Lyndsey Hookway is behind ‘Little Sleepers’, and has a background as a paediatric nurse and health visitor.
She is a mum to two girls herself, and while some may discourage it, she’s a proud advocate of bed sharing.
Susie Parker is a child sleep consultant based in Chicago in the US, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t benefit from her expertise as she offers web chat consultancy and also has a number of videos on her site to help you get started.
Another US sleep consultant, Lori Strong offers both email and Skype consultancy to help you and your family get the good night’s sleep which you deserve.
She’s also won a number of awards and is a member of the International Association of Child Sleep Consultants, so she certainly knows her stuff!
FamilySleep.com was founded by Deborah Pedrick, who has been educating families on how to get their children to sleep for over a decade.
While she’s another US consultant, the site is definitely worth a visit as it contains lots of free information which parents are sure to find helpful.
The Sleep Sense Program is run by Dana Obleman and is a ‘do it yourself’ solution and guide.
However, they also have a worldwide team of sleep consultants who can offer that more personal touch, whether it be in person or over the phone.
The Millpond Children’s Sleep Clinic has become an authority on children’s sleep, and they even help to provide sleep training to the NHS, showing that they really are an experienced source of knowledge.
10. Rachel’s Babies
Rachel Waddilove has certainly had some high-profile clients, with celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Minnie Driver praising her for helping get their children into better sleep routines.
She offers consultancy, courses, and has also written books on the subject.
Goodnight Sleepsite is run by Alanna McGinn, a lady with lots of experience in the world of child sleep consultancy.
As well as founding the site, she is also a director of the International Association of Child Sleep Consultants. (Based in the US, they offer email consultancy).
The Baby Sleep Site is a great online resource for tips on how to help your baby get a good night’s sleep, but they also have their own team of trained sleep consultants who will work with you to create a Personalized Sleep Plan.
Abi Thompson is a baby sleep specialist based in the North (Bolton, to be precise), and maternity nurse, who offers a comprehensive service, even sometimes stopping overnight at client’s houses to help take the burden off parents and help give them guidance and support.

Sleepy Lambs is run by Mary Foster, who has worked with families around the globe to improve their sleep, with a strong focus on emotional wellness.
As well as consultancy, she also offers the Sleepy Lambs Sleep academy online programme.
The Baby Sleep Clinic have a mantra of ‘nurturing naturally’, and are firmly against ‘controlled crying’, instead believing in a parent’s right to demonstrate love.
Most importantly, they promise to help both parents and baby to get a good night’s sleep!
16. Rebecca Michi
Rebecca Michi is originally from the UK, although now works in the US, but she has a series of free videos on her website which will help you to take the necessary steps for your child to get a better night’s sleep.
17. The Sleep Lady
Kim West is better known as The Sleep Lady, and is one of the world’s most respected sleep consultants, having helped children and their parents get more sleep for over 17 years.
She has a free guide to download on her website and she also contributed a great guest post to us here at Sleepy People a couple of years ago, which you can read here.
Judy Clark runs BabyWinkz, and offers private consultations, as well as hosting seminars, and has a free download for parents on her site which outlines ‘Five Steps to Getting Your Baby to Sleep Through the Night’.
19. Save Our Sleep
Referred to as ‘The International Baby Whisperer’, Tizzie Hall is behind Save Our Sleep, who not only offer sleep consultancy, but also sell a number of products such as sleep bags and comforters, and also even have their own app.
20. The Sleep Works
The Sleep Works is run by qualified child sleep consultant, Maryanne Taylor, who delivers many talks and workshops in addition to providing consultancy, and even has her own regular slot on a BBC Radio phone-in show.
